Bounty Raid Bubble
The Bounty Raid Bubble is a competitive raid system used on modded Rust servers. It transforms base raiding into an objective-based PvP event where clans fight for control of a designated “bubble zone.” Instead of simply breaking into a base for loot, attackers must dominate the bubble long enough to claim the defending clan’s bounty.
Overview
A Raid Bubble activates when attackers breach the defender’s base and creates a large spherical zone—known as the raid bubble—centered around the core of the structure. Inside this zone, attackers and defenders battle for control while a progress bar shifts based on the number of players from each side present.
The system rewards active PvP, discourages offline raiding, and integrates directly with a bounty economy in which clans earn or lose bounty value depending on raid outcomes.
Activation
The Raid Bubble triggers when:
- Attackers destroy the first wall or door of the defender’s main base.
- The system identifies the structure being raided.
- A bubble is spawned, usually large enough to contain up to 100+ players.
Once activated, all participants see a raid interface displaying the progress bar and remaining time.
Bubble Mechanics
Progress Bar
A central feature of the Raid Bubble is the tug-of-war progress bar:
- Attackers outnumber defenders inside the bubble → progress bar fills upward (toward attacker victory).
- Defenders outnumber attackers → progress bar reverses.
- Equal numbers or no players present → progress freezes.
The bubble remains fixed in size and position throughout the raid.
Timer & Checkpoints
- Each raid begins with a base timer (commonly 1h 30m).
- Reaching certain progress thresholds awards bonus time (e.g., +5 minutes per checkpoint).
- If attackers do not fill the bar before time runs out, defenders win.
Victory Conditions
Attackers Win If:
- The progress bar fills completely before the timer expires.
Defenders Win If:
- Attackers fail to complete the bar before time runs out.
When the raid ends, the bubble disappears and standard building/looting rules resume.
Bounty System
Clans on these servers carry a bounty value, often earned through events, PvP, or previous successful raids.
- All clans begin with a base bounty (example: $30).
- If attackers win the raid bubble, they claim the defender’s entire bounty.
- The defending clan loses all bounty to the attackers.
- After losing, defenders often receive a protection period (commonly 2 hours) to rebuild without being immediately raided again.
This mechanic adds stakes to raiding and creates a meaningful target-selection meta.
PvP & Raid Rules
- Normal combat applies: players can shoot into and out of the bubble.
- Respawns via beds, bags, and team spawns work as usual.
- Third-party players may enter the bubble, but only attackers vs defenders influence the progress bar.
- Looting is permitted only during the active raid window. When the raid ends, looting is restricted until the next bubble event.
Purpose & Gameplay Impact
The Bounty Raid Bubble system encourages:
- Active defense rather than relying solely on base design.
- Coordinated team PvP, reinforcements, and respawn management.
- Strategic raiding, where clans choose targets based on bounty value.
- Fairer PvP by reducing offline raid abuse.
- Longer, more organized raids with clear objectives.
This system is popular on competitive modded servers and is designed to create high-intensity, balanced clan warfare.
