A view of the Airfield.
The Airfield is a Monument often found on procedurally generated maps in Experimental Rust. Owing to its varied loot spawns and convenient access to utilities, the Airfield has proven to be one of the more popular monuments in the game. This, in turn, renders it rather highly contested. The entire perimeter of the airfield is lightly irradiated. When the Attack Helicopter spawns, it will always have the airfield as a guaranteed destination.
Layout
Three large hangars and a watch tower.
The Airfield spans a relatively large, flat area, featuring two runways (23 and 22 from left to right), three hangars, four watch towers, some parking lots, a helipad with a Chinook under a tarp, some fuel tanks/silos, a Freight Transit Line entrance, some small guard booths, a small power station, a crashed helicopter and an office building with an air traffic control tower (labeled 12) and a loading dock. There are also tunnels running underneath the Airfield that are accessible through concrete 'ladder holes'/tunnel entrances. A section of the tunnels is a small sewer area with 4 tunnels; tunnels 9 and one labeled "WAY OUT" are collapsed, while a tunnel labeled "WAY OUT" and 3 are intact and the only way to access the area. The intact "WAY OUT" tunnel leads to the entrance near the helipad and passes by two inacessible doors; one is labeled "Shelter" and is past the collapsed section of tunnel, while the other is also labeled "Shelter" and is behind the ladder. A ZENLABS shipping container can be found in the parking lot near the office building.
All buildings are freely accessible and may contain Loot Crates and Barrels.
Deteriorating, concrete walls confine the Airfield's premises.
Infrastructure
A Recycler, located in the second, middle hangar.
The Airfield offers access to a Recycler, which is located in the middle hangar (Hangar 2) behind some boxes.
Inside the office building, a working Oil Refinery, Recycler and Repair Bench is available.
Loot
Oil Barrels stored in the first hangar.
The Airfield is host to a whole, wide variety of different loot spawns - ranging from Trash Cans, regular loot Barrels and Oil Barrels to Food, Medical(or Supply) and Military Crates.
Outside, on the runway and the Airfield's outskirts, you would find a plethora of Trash Cans, regular loot Barrels and Food Crates.
The first hangar (Hangar 1), the one furthest away from the warehouse, is usually filled with several Oil Barrels alongside large shipping containers from Cobalt, ZENLABS, and WANGEN.
Inside the other two hangars (Hangars 2 and 3) and the office building itself, you may expect to find different variants of the Large Wooden Crate as well as Military Crates.
Within the tunnels one can find a few bunker rooms, sewers, and a short natural cave segment (labeled "Section C"; unfinished tunnels?). You can find several mining crates, military crates, and barrels throughout.
If a player has two Electric Fuses, a Blue Keycard, and a Green Keycard, it is possible to complete a puzzle that leads to a loot room. Start by using one fuse on a Fuse Box in the office building, before heading down the tunnel entrance in between Hangars 2 and 3. They must then take a left and use the Green Keycard on the door labeled '3'. Beyond the green door, players can find a hallway and a door leading to the Armory. Use the second fuse on a nearby Fuse Box and use the Blue Keycard to access the Armory. Inside the Armory is a Red Keycard. The total amount of loot for both rooms (including the corridors) is 9+ crates, and 2+ barrels. Exits to this area can be found in the hallway beyond the Armory, which leads to two doors labeled 1 and 2; 1 leads to the power station, while 2 leads to the crashed helicopter past a door labeled 7. 3 Scientists can be found here guarding the Armory area and the corridors; based on their presence (and the amount of modern technology such as the shipping containers, CCTV monitors, Chinook, and Attack Helicopter), it seems they've established a small outpost/base, using the empty hangars to store cargo.
